Zavarella Construction Ltd. is a name which has become synonymous with quality.
The company's dedication to building exceptional homes, is a natural outgrowth of the people who founded it: Emidio and Vittoria Zavarella.
Emidio Zavarella's career began in his native Italy, where he learned everything he could from some of that country's top craftsmen. From there, he moved to Venezuela, serving as chief electrician to a major electrical company. When he'd gained enough experience, Emidio brought Vittoria to Canada and launched his new company.
Emidio's Canadian electrical company grew steadily. But his real dream was the building of homes. So in 1972, Zavarella Construction Ltd. was founded.
Zavarella Construction became known for a number of successful developments in the Brantford area. There was now just one major goal to be realized; that Emidio and Vittoria's son Domenic could continue their dedication to excellence by following in their footsteps.
In fact, Domenic Zavarella had already learned his parents' work ethic and commitment even at a young age. Before long, father and son were sharing the same vision of a company deeply rooted in the traditions of craftsmanship.
In 1984, at the age of fifty, Emidio Zavarella passed away. Domenic, only 17 at the time and attending George Brown College, took his place at the head of the company. With the support of his family and fellow trades persons, he set out to continue the family traditions.
Domenic Zavarella has already accomplished much. He has won numerous awards, served on the Home builder Board of Directors for 15 years; was 2nd Vice President 1995-96; 1st Vice President 1996-97; and President 1997-98.
Through his successes, Domenic always remembers the crucial lessons his parents taught him. Treating every customer with the same respect was the key to his parents' success. Domenic expresses his appreciation for the gifts his father left him, in this way:
"I consider myself very fortunate to have learned from such a wise
and honourable teacher, and it is to my parents' love and support
that I dedicate all my success."
